We are in an extinction crisis.  In the last fifty years we have lost, globally, more than half of all wild things, but there is still so much to be saved…

So begins best selling author and scholar, Katherine Rundell’s, A Carnival of Animals.  Come and discover the fascinating agility of a giraffe’s tongue, which arctic animal went fishing in the Thames in 1251 and which bird stays on the wing for over 10 months of its life, sleeping with half of its brain shut down!

Originally a BBC Radio 4 production, members of the local community will bring these animals to life through Katherine’s description of natural history, cultural insight, myth and science opening our eyes to these astonishing and precious creatures.
