There will be time for the audience to participate, and audience recommendations will be welcomed.  This event is organised to support the Burford Library and the National Year of Reading campaign which all Oxfordshire libraries are championing.

Eve Smith

Eve Smith writes speculative thrillers about the things that scare her. Her novels have been reviewed in New Scientist, The Guardian and The Times. Her fourth novel, The Cure, was a Times best new thriller pick which explores the lethal consequences of a cure for ageing. Eve’s previous job took her to environmental research projects across the globe which fuelled her passion for wild creatures, radical science and far-flung places.

Jasper Fforde

Jasper Fforde has been writing in the Absurdit/Speculative Genre since 2001 when his novel ‘The Eyre Affair’ debuted on the New York Times Bestseller list. His 18th novel, ‘Dark Reading Matter’ will be the eighth and final book in his ‘Thursday Next’ series and he counts his sales in millions. He lives and works in his adopted nation of Wales.

Anne Youngson

Anne Youngson is a novelist who has lived in Burford for over thirty years.  She turned to writing fiction after retiring from a career in Product Development at Jaguar Land Rover.  Her first novel Meet Me at the Museum was shortlisted for the Costa First Book award, won the Paul Torday Prize and was serialised on Radio 4.   She has published two further novels, Three Women and A Boat and A Complicated Matter, as well as a book of short stories, The Six Who Came to Dinner.
