Burford Jazz – Jake McMurchie Quartet

London born, raised in Bristol, Cambridge educated, Jake McMurchie has been an influential member of the thriving south-west jazz scene for nearly two decades.  Jake has been a key member of many of the most innovative and exciting bands to emerge from the Bristol area, notably Get the Blessing and more recently his own ensemble Michelson Morley.  He has a simply gorgeous tone, melodic approach and a respect for the harmonically unusual that complements the music of the great Duke Ellington beautifully.

Performing at this year’s Burford Festival with Jake will be the hugely popular and critically acclaimed Tom Berge (piano), lyrical bassist Paul Jefferies and a drummer of distinction – Jonathan Silk.
